Tips for a Happy, Safe Thanksgiving Season 🍂

Avoid Turkey-Frying Fires: rying turkeys is a popular tradition, but it’s also a leading cause of holiday house fires. To stay safe: Always fry turkeys outdoors, away from your home, garage, and deck. Make sure the turkey is fully thawed to prevent dangerous oil splatters. Keep a fire extinguisher rated for grease fires nearby.



2. Stay Safe in the Kitchen: Cooking is the heart of Thanksgiving, but it’s also the top cause of home fires during the holidays. Never leave the stove or oven unattended while in use. Keep flammable items like oven mitts, wooden utensils, and dish towels away from heat sources. Turn pot handles inward to prevent accidental spills, especially with children nearby. 3. Protect Your Home from the Elements: With cooler weather here, ensure your home stays safe and sound: Clean out your gutters to prevent clogs and water damage. Have your chimney inspected before lighting that first cozy fire. If hosting guests, place non-slip mats at entryways to avoid slippery messes from wet shoes.
